The Hidden Flame
You moved like rising smoke,
Shifting through my thoughts,
Never still for long,
Never easy to forget.
Your eyes held secret places,
Dark corners filled with fire,
I followed without question,
As if my steps were yours.
Your voice changed the wind,
Calm in one slow breath,
Wild in the next heartbeat,
Confusing and pulling me near.
I tried to read your silence,
I tried to trace your fears,
Yet every time I reached,
You slipped through like mist.
Still your presence stayed,
Even when you turned away,
A flame without a source,
A burn without a name.
You held me with confusion,
You touched me with intent,
I felt your hidden longing,
Even when you hid your heart.
Days passed like wandering smoke,
Nights clung tight to you,
I lost myself in wanting,
A truth I never spoke.
Though you remain a mystery,
A fire without an end,
My love still keeps your ember,
Alive through every dusk.

I've been writing poetry since the age of fourteen. With pen in hand, I wander through realms unseen. The pen holds power; ink reveals hidden thoughts. A poet may speak truth or weave a tale. You decide. Let pen and ink capture your mind❤️

This seems to be a poem of unrequited love and/or friendship. Good work.
