The Hardest Goodbyes
The Three Of Them, Reunited

Quietly, she lay on her side
Soft eyes, forever glistening
As I stared, she seemed to smile
As if she might be listening
Keeping secrets she'd never tell
By the shape I'm in
I guess, it's just as well
In these small moments of beauty
It seems that everybody leaves
Still, we take big leaps of faith
Sometimes I hate how I am perceived
But love being portrayed
Tender the smiles in sweet, goodbye kisses
As the last of our breath, escapes
Faithfully, love and pain never misses
The heart beats, though today, gently aches
Sweet memories remain to sustain us
Those same memories, bleed, stained with our tears
Life and death go on, hopelessly treasonous
Yet, in the chance to do-over, I'd volunteer

I feel for you Kelli, I know exactly how you feel. I had to say goodbye to my little girl four years ago, and I still close my eyes and think about it.
Aww, so sorry to read this one so sad to lose a close friend like that and this is a beautiful tribute/

So stinking sweet and cute!
They are indeed hard. Blessings. In the third line, did you mean "stared"?

Love and pain sadly coexist. Lovely, Kelli.
