“Do you think the gray pen is good to write with?

You know what I like to do?

I make my drawings in pencil,

then go over it in ink,

then go over it again,

darker and darker.

I do it with my coloring, too.”

Oh, to be seven (and a half) again,

to have nothing but confidence in your abilities

and to tap into that sheer joy and unbridled imagination as easily as breathing

(Nevermind that we both have asthma—couple puffs of a rescue inhaler and the analogy still (mostly) stands)

But yes!

You draw, and I’ll write, and we’ll build beautiful stories together.
