The Golden Rule

In today’s world everything seems so black and white

Cut and dry, “you’re always wrong and I’m always right”

It’s beamed into our minds and bred into our offspring

Relationships are ruined as puppet masters pull our strings

The herald of destruction brings division and desecration

Devastation, hate, and anger continue to consume the nation

And with everything we’re facing unity seems unlikely

If our skin color is different you’re automatically nothing like me?

If our races are different then you’re automatically going to fight me?

It’s strange how color makes us unable to treat each other nicely

I beg to differ and strive to find a different way

How you treat me is how I’ll treat you every. single. day.

Because everyone is unique and life is as precious as diamonds and jewels

My spirit color is gold because I choose to live my life by the golden rule
