Never Giving Caesar

A poem

By Avocado Nunzella BSc (Psych) -- M.A.P Published about 5 hours ago 1 min read

We’re never getting old

Spent under purple flowers

Dyed hair and polished shoes

--------------------------------

We’re never giving Caesar his

And we’d be damned if we let another year

Go by without the sea, and digging holes

On the shore

--------------------------------

We’ve stopped dancing and the buildings fell

Tsunami of words and wildfires for ghosts

--------------------------------

We’re not getting old, we’ve told the old crone

--------------------------------

Tip tapping bones, spirit if new worlds

--------------------------------

Didn’t we also tell her to leave us alone

--------------------------------

Another day will come

Another green path

Don’t you leave me alone. I picked up a flyer

I made a chest a house and you nodded, so we must go.
