The Garden of Dreams
Stanzas on Resolution
The success of resolutions depends on the self. -Michelle Liew
*****************************************
In the field of forgotten dreams
I stand, fingers grasping the gust of time
The earth crumbles softly under my feet
Where past dreams linger
With the scent of the wilting flowers.
*****************************************
I reach for the fragments of what might have been
But the dust drifts away
By worn wishes unspoken
The sun rises, oblivious to regrets
****************************************************
In the silence, I hear
The sound of my breathing
Each draw a vow,
Each exhale fulfillment
****************************************************
The year closes, but I wait not
For the earth’s renewal
I start once more
Ķnowing that I sow
Myself.

Resolutions can be very powerful if we set it consciously and with determination to grow in the new year. I really loved your poem, it flowed so naturally!
