The Games That We Play
It is all a part of love and life

The Games That We Play
In the grand arena of life’s design,
Where every heart seeks to intertwine,
We dance on paths both winding and fair,
In the games that people play, unaware.
With smiles that mask the truths we hide,
We craft our roles, with nothing but pride.
In whispers soft and glances keen,
We navigate the spaces between.
Some play to win, with strategy bold,
While others seek warmth in stories retold.
The jester’s laugh, the lover’s sigh,
Each day a new test, though the price is high.
Yet beneath the surface of laughter and cheer,
Lurk shadows of doubt, of longing, of fear.
The masquerade hides the fragile and frail,
In a world where authenticity often seems pale.
For trust is a currency, rare and divine,
In the marketplace where hearts intertwine.
And the games that we play, though varied in hue,
Reflect the essence of me and of you.
So let us be mindful of the roles that we take,
Of the choices we make, for our own sake.
In the theatre of life, let honesty reign,
For the truest of games is the one free from pain.
Thus, as we partake in life’s little dance dance,
May we find in each other a genuine chance.
To play not just games, but to forge bonds that stay,
In the beautiful chaos of the games that we play

I've been writing poetry since the age of fourteen. With pen in hand, I wander through realms unseen. The pen holds power; ink reveals hidden thoughts. A poet may speak truth or weave a tale. You decide. Let pen and ink capture your mind❤️
