The Face in the Cloth of Jesus Christ

We have no proof it’s true but deep inside I feel it is?

The Face in the Cloth of Jesus Christ

This could be Him

my Lord

my God

the one who bore it all,

such pain he endured.

yet he never cursed them once.

Not the whip,

nor spit,

not the thorn twisted deep.

Not the iron bite of nails

not the weight of mockery

thrown like stones in the dust

This face

so faint, so bruised by time

still speaks

not in wrath

just in silence.

The kind that wraps around a soul,

and says

“I see you still”

I love you still.

He was no prince of war

no man of gold

He walked in sand, not silk

his hands were innocent, caring

his eyes were kind

his words so pure as his mind.

Jesus Christ pure, and alive.

loving peaceful And still

they beat him

stripped him

laughed as he bled

as though holiness could be broken

as though light could be killed

It hurts to look

hurts to know

this world made a cross

for the only one

who would never make one for us

This cloth

may be linen

or it may be miracle

I believe the face

it could be him.

And I weep

for what they did

and I kneel

for what He gave

Expecting nothing,

nothing in return.

He died

so we could live

and we

so often forget

how he died for us.

Even now he watches

over us. For he love all.

Amen to he who suffered

yet still forgive.

Please tell me what you think of the face. I want to know what others think too 🙏♦️ Please also read below https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/my-peace-prayer-for-2025%3C/span%3E%3C/strong%3E%3C/p%3E%3Cstyle data-emotion-css="drbim6-Image">.css-drbim6-Image{margin-top:40px;}

There are many things that we cannot definitely prove. Just because we can't does not mean that they are not true. I think in this case, there is quite a bit of supporting information. Great poem by the way, so deep and meaningful.

Jesus is the carpenter of living love for us all. The image is him and he is watching even with eyes closed he is watching and listening to what is going on all around. Great job.

The Shroud is a topic of interest to me, and I've done quite a bit of reading on it. There is plenty of evidence to support its authenticity, and it can be traced through history essentially back to the Crucifixion. Lovely poem, and I admire your faith.

leaves lots to think about how we would be if we suffered that much

The description of Jesus' suffering is powerful. It makes me reflect on His sacrifice. The idea of His face in the cloth is both moving and thought-provoking.

This was such a tear jerking piece. The length especially added to its effect, and the truth of his life is humbling. Really allow one to look within and ponder, as well as appreciate his unconditional love. Well done Marie, beautifully written. 👌🏽♥️
