The Eyes Of The World

I See How They Judge

By K. Noelle WarnerPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

I want to break out of this shell

And be who I really am

But this world has us so Caught up

In Putting on a mask to play the game of life.

Its disgusting really

That the world has made us be two people in one.

Its terrible really to know that

That this notion of living in peace and harmony

Is a facade that will never truly happen

Because of human greed and desires

We can never go out the front door with out the mask

We can not leave it behind,

One day for my children for their sake

I can only hope for them to be their true selves

But how can that happen when we have to put on an act

That no one really speaks about.

Of course we use our manners

We hold our composure and believe me

That is not what I mean by being ourselves

I mean why can't we just meet people and if you are kind

You can be kind instead of putting on a front

Because I am tired of putting on that front just to appease others

Are you not tired of not being the real you?
