The Moment I knew

What Mom Meant

By K. Noelle WarnerPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

The beauty life brings,

All that we see through these eyes,

When the first pregnancy test is positive,

and on the way a surprise,

To the late nights up and down,

With no sleep at all,

You think you would crash and burn,

Except you know its worth it all,

Then they grow and get older,

And you sit back to think,

If it wasn't for my bad ass mom,

I wouldn't have half these instincts,

So I give it up to her,

Because she showed me the way,

And she made me feel,

Like what I have been doing so far is okay,

From the early mornings turned to late night cleanings,

From the homework to the scrapes and brush burns,

I'm so thankful for family and giving my life meaning,

I can't take all the credit,

Because I couldn't do this alone,

This is the lovely and precious life of being grown.
