The Ending

The river to the sea

By Elsa Michaela | @surfthoughtPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

This is where it ends

Again upon again

Wishing for some reconciliation in old age

When the tumbling, writhing rivers of youth

Have settled into slow, wide, ways

Deep and assured, slow towards finality

The long embrace of the ocean

Maybe then

Return hope to my drowning heart

We can sit together in Heaven once more

My friend

For that is where I have known you

About the Creator

Elsa Michaela | @surfthought

When you hear a song

One that stops you in your tracks

That seems spoken from your own mind

Do you listen and listen again?

Follow its streams until a tide,

Inside you

Rushes to fill in the small hollow parts

…Yeah, me too
