Set Wave

Never turn your back on the sea

By Elsa Michaela | @surfthoughtPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Here comes another set

Rising from this ocean

Of sadness and fret

She doesn’t want to eat

She doesn’t want to repair

And as the wave inhales into its height

In slow motion, fight or flight?

Too much time to consider

Lines

And how easily the light

In the eyes

Is lost in droplet form

Where alone

Her figure grows small

In the shadow fall

Dives out of sight

With all her might

The weight of water

And heart, it breaks

Into the spray and trail of foam

Buoyant as stone

She is shaken

Unarmed

In position for another start

About the Creator

Elsa Michaela | @surfthought

When you hear a song

One that stops you in your tracks

That seems spoken from your own mind

Do you listen and listen again?

Follow its streams until a tide,

Inside you

Rushes to fill in the small hollow parts

…Yeah, me too
