The Daydream
a prose-full reminder

wrapped up in a daydream,
in the wonder of it,
like the first falling flakes
of snow,
or the feel of the ocean
wave foam,
reaching the shore,
barely touching my toes.
There's a warmth there
that freezes time
in an amber glow
then it's gone,
like a leaf in the sky
when the wind blows
it floats right past my window,
and I'm left here
trying to stitch up
the seams
of the fabric
of my heart
piece by piece,
cause it came apart
when I forgot
to follow
my daydreams
