The Day My Butterflies grew Wings
It was crush at first sight

In the warmth of a Sunday morning,
I was running around the hallway
Looking after our family friend’s kids
I remember my dress as clear as I remember your pristine face
A crimson with golden border dress..
There you walked in
With your Harry Potter glasses
And a dashing black jacket
Time stood on it's tracks and threw shades at me for my clumsiness
Till today you were..
The brightest thing ever I saw
Can a woman admire a man's beauty
Yes, I said oh and more..
I was stunned by the easy curls on your forehead,
And the hands that gestures like playing a harp in the air;
Can a man be so stunning, yes and yes
Emitting a glow I had read in Wordsworth lyrics..
You were taller than the most or because I saw you only there
A man with class and man who nature chose for her very best art
You passed by me like a streak of lightning
And the whiff of perfumed opened places in my body
That never knew existed..
I turned a garden and crimson flowers bloomed on my cheeks
How did no one else fall for you I checked,
And did people notice me gawking at you
I didn't care;
The kids had given up troubling or their sixth sense taught them better,
I had read of power of beauty in myths and imagined how royalty looks like
Never did the seventeen-year-old me know
As I would see you looking at the reflection of Me in mirror
With a hint of a smile
And the eyes with the sparkle I could never forget..
That a beautiful creature can turn you the deepest shade of red
And stay in your heart...
Through decades...
That's the day,
The butterflies at the pit of my stomach
Grew their wings
And opened my dreams..
