The Cowgirl's Last Request
god can erase me, i don't mind
By Dan WestPublished 9 months ago • 1 min read

His brain was all lit up
Like a neon sign.
He said he wanted me
But I said I wanted mine.
I got on my horse and
Rode way out west.
I looked at everything
And then made my last request.
Bury me at sunset,
Or don't bury me at all.
The crows can have my body.
I like their racous call.
And if you hear the rumble
Of a passing nighttime train
Don't even think about me
Or say me name again.
