The consequence of choice

Beyond Time and Behind Stars

By Sabayo MatikuPublished 10 months ago Updated 10 months ago 1 min read

A fair exchange, inexorable quanta at a time —

We see the changes wrought by simple

Measures of sunlight and drafts of

Cooling water —

A miracle turned green.

And, to some, the time is long and linear,

A simple model of illusion and

Single minded perspective.

We open the stage to those who have seen

The sprawling mass of tendrils,

Fully and firmly choking its mother tree

AND ALSO still a seed,

Dangling in the branches of an

Omnipotent grace:

That which flowers and fruits.

Mother to all, and herself still a sapling,

Or even, a rotting trunk in a lush undergrowth,

Home to tens of thousands of creatures,

Spindly bugs and slow earth warts,

And the network of mycelium that dances unseen,

She’s become a treasury of lignin and love.

It takes one miracle.

Just one.

The cascade then on

Is infinite.

One is boundless then.

About the Creator

Sabayo Matiku

I express the realities and frequencies that words are carried on, to speak to the heart in a manner that is simple and free. I've come to ruffle feathers and to polish the sky, to laugh and wonder.
