Winter nights burst forth in colour
A vibrant spectrum like no other
In dreamtime states
And tempted fates
The face of the earthly mother
Through rich and poor
And faded doors
Through darkest shades
And midnight parades
We constantly seek more
Though we look outside than in
And prick and pull out every whim
A constant reminder
If you look to find her
Is colours comfort within
Now as we flick across a page
And come across the final stage
Soon you'll see
Yourself in thee
And release all of your rage
The only role of colour
Is one like no other
To express no less
To be your mess
To entwine you with your lover
For all the doubt that we share
Colour is constant
Colour is there
