She gave her smile away
to a wolf in sheep's clothing
He took it right off her face
while his teeth were not showing
Dressed her up as a clown
kept her there for his bidding
He proudly drug her around
while her dignity, stripping
Her beauty still intact
so, he dug at her insides
Such a watered-down act
where love and cruelty collide
She could not tear away
from the love that he promised
Though what he did and he'd say
left her wanting and wannest
But, one day as he taunted
something snapped deep inside
Fully possessed and haunted
she looked him straight in the eyes
Said; I think it's time to get to it
I've had enough of your funnin
If you know what is best, then,
you'd better get runnin
Cause the beast I've had tamed
no longer can keep tied down
He is filled up with rage
tired of being your clown
The next thing he knew
the smile reappeared on her face
Like a brand-new tattoo
He disappeared without trace
Be careful the hearts that you play for a fool
or the next disappearing act, just may include YOU!

Excellent!
This poem pulses with hurt and rage, Kelli, and tells a condensed cautionary tale with extraordinary impact. Your opening lines sting hard, and your closing lines satisfy. Really well done!
Oh this was a triumph! Love this.
Perfect ending on your slam poem!!! Loved it!!!
This could be an epic poem.
You built the tension up and WOW! What a poem!
