The Christmas Card Apology
For My Friends And The Vocal Villanelle Challenge

Introduction
This has been written as a demonstration of how I write a villanelle and the video is included in this article. It is ten minutes and was recorded on my phone so apologies for the quality.
I've included Cliff's "Mistletoe and Wine" cos it's Christmas

If I Sent You A Christmas Card
And Then You Never Sent Me One
Please, Please Don't Treat Yourself Too Hard
βπβ
Life Can Be Very, Very Hard
And Yes, We Need To Have Some Fun
If I Sent You A Christmas Card
βπβ
Sometimes We Can Get Very Bored
And The Last Post, It Has Now Gone
Please, Please Don't Treat Yourself Too Hard
βπβ
It Sounds Like A Broken Record
Sometimes You Feel So Badly Done
If I Sent You A Christmas Card
βπβ
But You Know We'll Always Be Friends
And You Know We'll Never Be Done
Please, Please Don't Treat Yourself Too Hard
βπβ
Glad I Sent You A Christmas Card
So Next Year You Can Send Me One
If I Sent You A Christmas Card
Please, Please Don't Treat Yourself Too Hard

Sweet!
As I'm reading through the villanelles this year, I'm appreciating more and more the final stanza. Such a cool form and wonderful example! I'll look forward to watching your process!

Christmas cards, becoming a thing of a past. Great poem. οΏΌ
I can see how people would feel so bad when they don't do something in return because I'm like that. Lol. Loved your Villanelle!
Now I am learning something about poetry; thanks for a perfect example of a villanelle. Neat and clever! Thanks Mike!
