Which way do you choose?

I always hear you cry “Why SHOULD I?”

And so often I feel the same

I’M the one hurting

I’M the one damaged

Because of what THEY did

But when you let it fester

It’s grows and grows and grows

It turns into a prickly pear

And dominates your life

You’ll never heal that hurt

You can’t move on and forward

Your heart slowly turns to bitter

As horrible memories consume

The only way out

The only way free

Is to make that choice

Just to forgive

Its so hard when you don’t feel it

But it’s not about feelings

It’s about making the choice

Day in and day out

Every minute a choice

As the weeks go by

You’ll notice a change

As you continue to make that choice

The hurt doesn’t leave you

But it softens and fades

As you see life transform

Colours turn bright again and

Your mind becomes clear

As you realise forgiveness

Is NOT about them

Its just about you

And embracing your renewed life

inspirational

About the Creator

Linda Bromley

Just one of many creative outlets for me has been books! My whole life I’ve loved them and it’s so easy to make the jump to writing.

Recently I completed a poetry challenge and now, looking for more excuses to write, I’ve found myself here!
