The moment the plane we were in towered over the clouds

And the night sky was illuminated by diamond stars all around

The moment we climbed the mightiest of trees

And beheld the view from the top that made our youthful hearts leap

The moment we conquered our fears in the deepest sea

And relished it’s treasures found only beneath

The moment we embarked on that hidden trail for the first time

And found the secret view that has only been enjoyed through our eyes

The moment the early sparrow raised it’s gentle voice in song

Accompanied by nature’s orchestra that sang in unison

The moment we played and frolicked in the open field

Our own canvas of flowers that the spring sun revealed

The moment we ran unashamed in the rain and danced

While we watched the lightning strike with reverence

The moment the full moon reigned in the darkness

A focal point amidst the vibrant colors of Aurora Borealis

The moment we challenged the mountain in the raging storm

And reached higher than it’s peak ever did before

And that last moment before we woke up from the dream

Old memories remain; still nurturing the child in me
