Sleep now, weary tree

Let the rising of the wind

Sing comfort to you

See the mountaintops

Covered by winter’s blanket?

Let it cover you

Put off summer’s toil

And let your rest be sweeter

Than the fruit you bore

Let your golden leaves

Fall like tears of grief that come

Before the healing

May your roots dig deep

Let them discover new depths

Rooted in solace

May your light branches

Now relieved from your dead leaves

Wave freely and true

Let the perched snow bird

Harmonize with the soft breeze

Until summer comes

Wait for the season

Sleep well in the snow, before

You sow a forest
