i remember feeling blind

as if i were standing in the middle of a pitch black room

when i saw you for the first time

but it wasn’t really the first time i’ve seen you

you’ve been around for years, like a memory

only our paths had never found eachother

it was one of those days where i felt like i’ve never been loved

until i saw how you strangle those strings with your fingers

like they know you and you know them

a stage filled with smoke and lights

and you right in the middle shining brighter

singing to the land you love

pouring your heart out for all of us to taste

saying what you feel

being who you are, mask off

so confident, almost intimidating

in the middle of the crowd, you found me

and for the first time i didn’t feel small

unloved or out of place

you saw me

and that’s how i knew i wanted to keep seeing you every day,
