The Brightest

You lit up the room even when you were the dullest

Had the Brightest smile on your face when you felt like giving up

Faked happiness for the sake of others

You never really cared for yourself and it shows

Just kept on making sure the people around you were okay

You carried the weight of the world although it was going to crush you at one point

And you were okay with that

Because you didn’t care at the end of the day

You just wanted to make sure it was up and rotating for the people you loved

And it killed you every single day

When you put someone else in front of you

You should’ve never done any of that

But you’ve felt like you had to because that’s what you thought your purpose was

But the real purpose was to learn how to be kind to yourself even throughout all this madness

You can’t please the world when you think you don’t deserve to be in it
