The birds fell dead from the sky
No one can explain why ?

The birds fell dead from the sky
The birds fell dead from the sky
no warning no storm to blame
they dropped in the streets like rain
wings twisted on the ground
People stopped and stared
feet careful not to tread
a silence followed close behind
as if the air had cracked
What power takes them down
what hand pulls them from flight
a shadow we cannot name
yet it keeps on happening
The morning comes with feathers
scattered across the road
the trees still wait for song
but nothing rises there
The birds fell dead from the sky
and the sky gave no reply
Their voices once filled the dawn
now only echoes remain
an empty choir unanswered
Children asked why they fell
no one could give them truth
only lowered heads and whispers
The world feels smaller each time
when the sky forgets its wings
and leaves the earth in sorrow
A note from the I ternet I found below
Birds can fall from the sky dead due to sudden traumatic events like collisions with buildings or power lines, which cause disorientation and blunt force trauma. Other causes include severe weather conditions such as sudden cold fronts or fog, exposure to toxins or disease, or a sudden predatory attack that causes a flock to panic and fall.

✨ Hauntingly powerful. The repetition of “The birds fell dead from the sky” creates such an unsettling rhythm — almost like a drumbeat of loss. I love how the poem balances mystery and grief, while the factual note at the end grounds it in reality. It reads like both a lament and a warning, a reminder of how fragile the harmony between sky and earth really is. 🕊️
Another great poem, thankyou xx
This is like poetry and reality overlapping in an unsettling way.
