The Bigamist Who Broke My Heart

Sometimes in life you get hurt but move on. I can’t do it.

The Bigamist Who Broke My Heart

He wore two faces,

one for me,

one for her.

He spoke in promises,

soft as rain,

sharp as knives.

I built a life on words he said,

he built a lie instead.

I loved a ghost,

I kissed a mask,

I dreamed of something

he never had.

When the truth fell,

it fell like glass,

shattered clean,

cut deep and fast.

Now he walks two roads apart,

and I mend

my broken heart.

I tossed the ring,

I burned the bed,

I tore his letters,

shred by shred.

The nights are long,

the tears come slow,

but still I rise,

still I grow.

No more sweet lies,

no clever schemes,

just honest days

and quieter dreams.

I wear no chains,

I bow to none.

My second life

has just begun.

Let him spin his silver tales,

let him chase his crooked art.

I am done with him,

I am whole apart.

He broke my heart, but not my soul.

I stitched the cracks, I made them whole.

The contrast between his deceit and your strength is stunning.
