The Art of Ceremony

Passion it's a common thing among passionate people . Creativity it's a gift for those who live to create . Then there's personally it's various in so many of us. Not to forget about music and The lyrics created by all those real lyricists out there.

Rhymes of a lifetime live to tell a story. A story of a girl who fashioned and styled her lips to speak art .

Since around 12 years of age I've embraced the freedom and the ability to write poetry . Without intention, rap and R&b grew with me . It grew with me like an inner child - stuck with me since birth. Since then , I’ve used my connection and creativity to mark my territory .

With such a deep desire to express myself I began writing . Feeling like I was somehow a voice for those who may not have been able to express themselves , a force with different styles inspired me lyrically . Mystery and adventure was never too far away . I wasn't afraid to be myself . I wasn't afraid to be different . Expression with such a clever and peculiar attitude is a great way to describe the nature in which I use to explore and create..

It's funny how tricky life can be ! Thoughts become like moments predestined for different times . Times that may be revealed sometimes sooner than later .

It was about 20 years ago and the ink on my pad became more frequent than it had ever been . Poetry was my go to when I needed to express myself . During hard times in life writing became a relief in my life . Oras and spirits around me often moved me . Somehow no matter if the energy around was positive or negative, writing became the perfect outlet .

I wrote a poem named Bitter Sweet .It described a life . A life that had been neglected . A soul that had been misrepresented . A child that suffered in the cracks of life . That girl was my cousin.

About 2 years after Bittersweet was written my cousin had taken her final breath. At that moment I knew that I had written the story of her life , and at 26 years of age it was the end of her bittersweet life .

She had lived and I was Living through a life of uncertainties, with strange images and the bitter things that life brings.

Captured and held back by my own freedoms ,I survived hard times and suffering through the LaVender InKk on my pad. The 50 poems I had written became a mirror . The mirror reminds me of a life of passion . A life that determines how far creativity may go . I often identify feelings through music and When I'm trapped in a sea of emotions, expression is how I swim back to shore .

Music captures an image of me and mentions my name .

It was a typical day for teenagers . Besides the fact that at 15 years old, we performed in front of a crowd for the first time .We couldn’t believe our ears. My cousin and I had won the rap contest .

Excited about our new victory , From that moment I continued to escape the ways of life through the art of expression . It's a celebration . Without the art of Ceremony expression would be short lived .Voices would be Unheard . People would be without the freedom of expression . The ability to convey thoughts and true meaning .

Creativity had designed another dimension for me .

I find myself obsessed with the past .I remember when rap lyrics were deep and crafted with in depth design.A time when albums and CDs were a thing . DVDs and starter jackets were the latest trends . When music was most definitely mastered and delivered with dedication and creativity.

Like a shared bond between two people I continue to write lyrics from my heart. No different from that of my favorite rappers . Emotions squeezes so tightly , shining as if I needed strength to pull this off .

Standing with my mothers eyes ; Strong with the strength of my father’s Side-on my back… But what does this all mean ?It means that I was made to speak . To entertain . To inspire.

The true meaning of expression is a true artist . An artist with the heart to explore with the boldness it takes to take control of a design . His design . Passionate and receptive to the art of Ceremony .
