Because they say "you are in America",

We get to do as we please

Because we are here, we are 'Gringos'

Because we are here, we have turned into them, we have white washed ourselves and become distant to our roots.

But let me tell you this,

"BECAUSE WE ARE IN AMERICA",

We are not 'Gringos', we have not white washed ourselves nor have we forgotten our roots. We have EMPHASIZED every single thing we can that's a part of who we are as people. We have introduce ourselves to them in a way they cannot forget.

We have engraved our sweat, blood and tears into their system, that without us, they are nothing.

We are the immigrants who make their fields grow wild. We are the wetbacks that "steal" their jobs as we break our backs going down each field, picking their fruit and vegetables.

We are the people that make this economy grow, as we get paid less and get treated worse than the cattle they kill for food.

And they fear us.

They fear the way we slowly crept up into their system. They fear that we are slowly taking over.

They fear that ‘We have become America’ because deep down they know we are the backbone of this country. Simply because this country was founded by immigrants, by natives, by slaves, by people of color. Because they know that if we all unite, America will no longer be that colonized America it came to be.

So yes, because “We are in America”, we deserve every right to brag. Because “We are America”.

We are what built this country among-st all the torture, blood spillage, and sacrifice, we are what they call “Americans”.

And to this day, we shall continue to fight for the rights that we deserve...And we will shine through the darkness that has been shed upon us.

We will be the light to the cruelty that has proceeded to damage this society
