That little red bug.

A sad poem

I don’t remember last night,

though when I awoke again.

We laughed and we kissed.

The sun went and the moon came.

Soon after the moon followed,

It was time for you to do the same.

You hugged me goodbye and walked towards your car.

That same little red bug I showed you to drive.

As I waved and watched; I heard a familiar voice.

Wake Up!

Wake up?

In what felt like the blink of an eye, you were gone and once again I was alone.

Part of me had chosen to ignore what part of me had already known.

When did I realize it?

Was it when the moon shone the same color as your little bug,

Or when you walked out what used to be home?

Maybe it was when you gave me that soulless smile,

Followed by that now devoid of emotion giggle I had once loved.
