Thankful

My Reflection

By Kenneth DavisPublished 7 years ago 1 min read

There's not a day that goes by

That I don't think of you

It seems like the same thing

But it's really different with you

Some say that a heart lies

But my heart lies with you

I don't believe in falling skies

With you, I rise anew

Beauty defines you

Your radiance shines through

Permeating this darkness

I meddled days overdue

Thought life, I'd divorce it

Nails to my own coffin

Apprehensive,

In fear of taking many more losses

Not once did you criticize

Uplifted and edified

Hadn't known

such a person existed

Honored to witness

God must have been crazy

To send you to me lady

Though all of its just a mystery

Better than clutching misery

I've been released

Bound by an enemy

My reflection,

Got tired of being something I wasn't

False projection

The love which you've presented

A fool would have rejected

Though I've said some foolish things

With such inadequate intentions

love poems
