Thank You
You understand less than you think

Thank you
Just so you know you weren’t a big mistake
But you weren’t like other friends
The chemicals of brain and heart
Flooded out
And steered me wrong
Well if not exactly wrong, then in a way that was imprecise
Causing confusion
And yes, you were clear when you spoke
Your actions less so, as I think you know
And I apologised for being triggered
Like a petulant child
And carrying on in an entitled way
I’m sorry ok?
Surely you know I would never have done
What you accused me of
And thanks for your input, but I was clear about my priorities
They did include treating friends in a way that was kind
And I’d hope for the same
But although I didn’t meet my own standards
You had better know I tried
It was a friendship that might have lasted
If it had time to morph and grow
But the way it began for me left it with nowhere useful to go
“Rope” ....you know was never needed.
You as a person.... I needed to know
(And that’s NOT a Euphemism)
Anyway, I took the churned emotions, the energy the flow
And redirected it to where I knew it had to go
I didn’t need you telling me where that was
I always knew
So thank you though for setting off a chain reaction
Which has changed life for me and mine.... for the good.
