Carrying the colour blue

Sad about you

Doomed to carry the colour blue

In my heart

For my “mistakes”

My florid excitement

My wrongheaded enthusiasm

That only went to prove

If nothing else

I was actually a regular human

Just like you really

Went through a vivid purple phase though

It happens I guess

I’m sorry about that

It was honestly nearly a peaceful shade

But as it turned out

we are actually on opposite sides

Of the colour wheel

And my colour is fading fast

You will have plenty to choose from still

And I’ll make the most of the bright meagre

Spatters I have left

sad poetry
