Luna...

Forgive my absence, dear wanderer,

maker of night shadows, queen of the

sunless sky...

I have rightfully stolen a moment from

the noise in my life to dutifully respond

to your etchings. Each night I look upon

your calm existence, wondering what all

you have seen.

Witnessed.

Cherished.

Denounced...

You've spectated the birth of everything

on this planet, sealing history in the ancient

bones of your magnificent form, revolving in

an endless, stellar fortress...

*

From the depths of sincerity, I'd like

to send a gracious, thank you. My

mind has been lifted with wisdom and

insight. You've opened doorways to

understanding why I linger in stagnant

pools of self-doubt...

There is so much more to accomplish.

Each day is a gift worth opening. I

realize that now...

I didn't stumble upon your magic by

accident. Whatever cosmic strings you

pulled to weave this connection we have,

remains an enigmatic blessing. I don't

know what it means, but I am listening...

*

I thought about what you wrote last time.

And you're right. How can I expect to

comprehend the answers you give when I

don't fully understand the questions I ask.

In this sea of crumbling faith, questions

are all I have. It will take a little more time

for simple-minded, little me...

There are things to work on, I know. And

I understand your divine intervention won't

be here forever. I pray that it does, though...

As I carve these words into the damp sand, I

watch you slowly rise above the horizon with

an infectious glow that feels personal. In fact,

every time I look at you, it feels like I'm being

watched over...

You'll send the tide soon, receiving my message

as the waterline creeps forward, consuming every

word. And I'll return when it recedes, hoping this

conversation continues. But there is a chill in the

air. Snow will fall soon, freezing our sandy

canvas with the icy wrath of winter's touch.

Listen for my whispers to continue throughout

the frozen nights...

*

One day, I plan to rise to a height even greater than yours...

That ending line is breathtaking it captures ambition, longing, and admiration all at once a perfect closing to a luminous piece.

Love how introspective this one is. The lines on self doubt and the sea of “crumbling faith” where all you have are questions… wow. Heavy, and relatable. Great poem Lamar.

Congratulations on your top story, Lamar❣👏 Personal stand out section: "I didn't stumble upon your magic by accident. Whatever cosmic strings you pulled to weave this connection we have remains an enigmatic blessing. I don't know what it means, but I am listening." As an avid moon gazer, this made me smile. Best of luck with this challenge!

I love how personal this poem grows as it nears your grand finale, Lamar. But your legerdemain is what lifts this poem to extraordinary heights - I didn't stumble upon your magic by accident. Whatever cosmic strings you pulled to weave this connection we have, remains an enigmatic blessing. Good luck on the challenge!

Well-wrought, Lamar! In some ways, we are at greater liberty than the bodies in the Heavens, for their orbits are fixed by their mass and we have more choice in where we move about on this one which we inhabit. Nevertheless, their blessings must always be welcomed and cherished!

  • Awww, this was so sweet and wonderful! Loved it so much!
