Teenage Angst
A poem that I wrote when I was a teenager. It is dreadfully angsty. Even by teen standards. I know it's not very poetic, but I didn't want to change it too much from what it was.
Sometimes I realize,
People stare with blind eyes.
We are like pebbles of sand,
Easingly spread by hand.

As I look up at the sky,
I begin to wonder why,
Do I have to live just to die?
People also have asked for an answer not a lie.

Accusing they knew it would start,
As they began to harden at heart.
As they neglected a cry
and watched a child die.

Being popular means a lot of pain.
They realize it when in the rain
Clinging to you has kept me sane,
it also has soothed the pain

COULDN'T IT BE?!
Could it be a truth you and me?
These thoughts scream from mind,
trying to stop these sorrows I find.

I walked to the end,
but you stopped me, my friend.
For loving you has torn me apart,
but somewhere in my heart...
you shall never truly part...

You knew back then you were gonna be a writer! Very good work teen-you!
Very good teenage poetry! lol. I had some of mine published in a student anthology in middle school and I can never decide if I'm proud of or embarrassed of it.
Love the beginning with the pebbles
A deep poem
Wow
the teenage girl in me finally getting puberty loves this! 🩷 it's the perfect level of angst!
