When I first started writing for A Poem A Day In February I was all alone then. I would write one rhyme a day. That was my purpose when I was trying to rhyme more. I was interested in writing rap songs. I wanted rhyming to be second nature then.
Since that time, I am interested in other types of poetry. Each February now I am not the only one writing. I have contests and prizes and I have several people joining me. Some are very good and others are beginners.
I consider myself a beginner, even though I have been writing for several years now. I’m not sure when I will graduate from that status. I now know two women that have master’s degrees in poetry. I might ask them.
I write, right from the top of my head, and that seems to work the best. I have gone back and made some changes to some of my original rhymes. I just posted this story on Medium, as I just posted a story from Vocal on Medium.
I thought I would share an early rhyme that I like from February 27, 2017

No apology
The time I spend on a poem a day
Should be for pay
Could be looked at as facebookology
It’s in my biology
🌸
Maybe even in my astrology
This poem will be in my anthology
It may not be in the correct chronology
Still no apology
Remember facebookology.

Technology.
I thought why play pool
When you can play Ms. Pacman, it’s cool
Farmville is so much easier than using a tool
I’m not a fool
🌸
Technology got me through graduate school.
There is solitaire and scrabble
Am I beginning to ramble
Words with friends is not easy
Sometimes it would make me queasy
🌸
Now candy crush
Can be a rush
Or a bore
But I’m not sore
🌸
Just like a poem a day in February
Not January
No apology
