Tears Wash Away the Hurt

The heart holds the memories tight

Tears Wash Away the Hurt

Tears wash away the hurt,

roll gently down my face.

Carry with you the weight,

that words cannot release.

Each drop a kind of healing,

a salve upon the wound.

Though sorrow births the water,

it cleans the soul at last.

I lift my eyes to heaven,

and let the tears fall free.

Perhaps they reach the angels,

and tell them what I need.

Tears wash away the hurt,

do not let it linger long.

Flow into the soil,

where pain can turn to seed.

From seed may grow a flower,

fragile yet alive.

A bloom that whispers softly,

I have survived the storm.

The hurt may rise again,

but tears will meet it still.

Their river ever ready,

to take the ache away.

So let them trace the skin,

as rivers trace the land.

Each path a map of healing,

drawn gently by the rain.

Tears wash away the hurt,

until the morning comes.

Leave me lighter, calmer,

a soul unburdened now.

How true you speak and write these words. Tears wash away a lot. Good job.
