The Gulf is teal today
gentle waves break
little nudges
I have come here
to worship
and I do
my dull olive skin
begins to glow
the sea mirror
distorts or rather
reveals me
I blur and
am broken
and then come
back into focus
my feet
disappear
the peacock sea begins to dress me
I am wrapped in the
glittering diamond necklace
reflection of the sun
the waters swirl
and surround me
edged in foamy lace
suddenly the waves
fall away from me
I trudge up to the sand
salt encrusted
like a fish
I vow to wrap
myself always in
the Picasso blue gown
of the Gulf waters
that night
I rise and fall
I rise and fall
I rise and fall
I sleep deeply
amid teal green waves
