The trickling stream nearby winds

It’s gurgling way into my memories

Like flowing dreams and sin twined

In debauched rejuvenation.

*

It once was joy that was my wont

To be brimmed with golden light

Frolicking in meadows luxuriant

From dawn to deepest night.

*

Hot sunshine on bare skin

Warm breath panted in my face

Bodies strewn across green meadows

Writhing happiness.

*

Was it a dream or my imagination?

I can no longer tell

Was it a book I read somewhere?

Or a show on the television?

*

I prefer to believe it was a life well lived

That made me who I am

Warm thoughts heating my old bones

Memories of youthful naughtiness.

*

A young scoundrel living life

Bohemian and free

Tasting all life has to offer

Yes, that was me!
