Dank taste of blood coupled with a musky odor.
Vision is blurred by mundane darkness,
Tender feeling throat swallowing distress,
Hearing screams in the distance,
But it is only a hallucination.

The night hides many secrets. The senses become unbearably intense with loneliness. Things may be simpler than they seem— like the barking of dogs. But who knows if it’s just a hallucination. Better be cautious. Protection is safer.

I so admire when I read a bio and it reflects a part of a writer’s authentic selves: ‘Trauma bleeds through generations, words heal the hidden scars.’ Thank you for your honesty - it provides an insight that may inform some of your writing. I can very much relate to your poem. Haunting. I too suffer hallucinations. Thank you for writing Pauline 🌸

This is so unsettling 😬 Well done 👍
Very horrifying and evocative. A great poem. Which one is smell? Line one is both taste and smell, I think. I like the poem a lot.
