Taste of the Wind
Do you remember?
Do you remember the taste of the wind
The smell of the rain as it fell on our face
Or the way your skin burned under her eyes?
-
Do you remember the taste of the wind
The booming of your heart in our ears?
-
Do you remember the taste of the wind
The way the music pulsed in our veins
Or the sound of her hand on your arm?
-
Do you remember the taste of the wind
The movement of her lips as she asked us to dance?
-
Do you remember the taste of the wind
The scent of every step in time with the crowd
Or the sound of our clumsy boots on the cold, hard stones?
-
Do you remember the taste of the wind
The clicking, whirring flash of the strobing lights
-
Do you remember the taste of the wind
The heat that burned against our skin as she laughed
On the day we danced with a memory?

Young love so sensitive, delicate and complex yet passionately real
Lovely!
Awww Alex, Donna is such a beautiful soul and it takes one to know another. Yes, I mean you, hehehehehe. This was such a beautiful poem for her! I loved it!
Simply beautiful, Alexander.
This is wonderful in how your words create a world, I can actually see the wind because of the other senses you evoked
Some great lines with the subversion of senses, well done
Alex…. This is so beautiful! I loved the imagery and sensory elements and the repetition!! I will always be in your corner and I’m so touched that you mentioned me! 💚 Ironically I’m working on a piece where I do a nod to you too! I appreciate you so much!
