Tales of Torment: Trials of Time
I've survived this long in a story that's still being written...
I've survived this long in a story that's still being written‐
but still...
I'm tempted to simply close the book,
since I can't just skip to the end.
How many of these Tales of Torment can be scribed through this timed trial I hear is called, a "gift?..."
I feel as though no longer can I listen to such‐
I see nothing more than an hourglass,
as I've written many, many times.
Every voice sounds scripted,
as if rehearsed many, many times.
All are apart of these trials of time‐
Can I say that I've seen enough?
Life is a gift, right?
Am I permitted to disagree?
All who are around me say such, but
I see nothing but survival tests,
absent of any interests.
How many Tales of Torment can be scribed through this timed trial I hear is called, a "gift?..."
When will I, or this, be finished?
I've survived this long in a story that's still being written‐
and I must say...
I don't care anymore how it ends‐
I'd rather take the hands of time and make them my own,
that I may stop the telling of this story...
and finally bring an end to these, Tales of Torment.
About the Creator
Josh Morgan
Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.

I like your poems. Why do the have content warnings...there are far more intense and in-depth writers who bare their souls here
