social commentary
There's a rich history of poetry serving as social commentary, intended to inspire calls to action.
Illuminated
How hard is it to see from the other side? To put your feet in another’s shoes, to feel what they’ve felt? You’ve experienced so much through your years, not unlike theirs. Your heart has felt their pain, their love, their laughter, their sorrow. Your soul has danced the steps beautifully, graciously.

Kyle Rittenhouse
Get my thoughts here written out To begin I say fuck Kyle Rittenhouse Many times we have stated what it's all about The justice system is a fraud that's with out a doubt. Mass groups of the ignorant have gathered round Hoping praying saying this like the oj trial on what ground? Have you seen our country's history? Centuries Of the facts are elementary Recently In the time of a decade A list of many black names Have linked all together into shackles of a new age ⅗ is the statement made Judges spitting on our grave We're just labeled thug short for nigger short for slave People know the truth Can we look at Dylan roof The rapist Brock Turner and they blamed it on his youth Black trauma is real we not bulletproof we're just callous to the wounds Yeah we still feel the pain but it numbs very soon.
