social commentary
There's a rich history of poetry serving as social commentary, intended to inspire calls to action.
The Shitty Table . Top Story - December 2022.
Bah humbug, it's that time of year, when we spend more than we can afford and get pissed on cheap beer. Although I don't doubt it is merry for some, I myself find Christmas all too glum. I am the Grinch with a beating heart, a character at the table who plays their part.

C.H.R.I.S.T.M.A.S.
This is a free-form acrostic poem, which is really a list of a few things to do in the true spirit of Christmas. The music is โHappy Christmas War Is Overโ by John Lennon and Yoko Ono, and I truly wish that all wars were over. Think what sort of world we could build if money was spent to build rather than destroy.

Butterfly On A Wheel
This is my thirty-sixth dark poem in the series inspired by Dharrsheena. It is a butterfly cinquain, and is only dark in concept, observing how beauty is destroyed often for the fleeting convenience of perpetrators. We see so many situations where a talent or a figure is effectively killed to preserve it at a moment in time as nothing more than an ornament, often forgotten by the ones who put it there.
