Across all the blue skies/all over this green earth/I am black and know my worth/my eyes are brown/and I bleed red/because I/ Am human first/ and contrary to popular belief/as a woman my favorite color isn’t pink/or purple/ it’s gray/ makes getting dressed easy day by day/plain Jane/to the naked eye/ complex simplicity/ on the inside/weird but I love to laugh until I cry/I am uniquely made/5 foot 3 and full of grace/personality big enough to fill an empty space/despite the perils of the world I keep the faith/Marching to the beat of my arm drum/at my own pace.
