Performance Poetry is poetry out loud; poems brought from the page to the stage.
It is Still not Write to Drink and Drive
Before you venture on to read this poem, I wanted to clarify that this is more or less a remixed version of an earlier poem that I wrote entitled "It is Never Write to Drink and Drive." For whatever reason, I could not let the ideas in that poem go. I felt confident enough to publish it, but I kept going back to edit it as I did not have the willpower to leave it alone. Those who are poets can sympathize. I'm hoping that, by doing a different version, I'll finally be able to scratch the itch this poem has been causing me to feel. Anyway, Enjoy!

The Mansion Witch
I owned half a mansion, I inherited it from my great grandfather. A witch owned the other half, she got it from her great grandmother. Our great grandparents were briefly married, got divorced, found other people, had children with the other people, but decided to each keep half of the mansion. It made taxes cheaper, even though neither person was a keeper.
