Love poems for hopeless romantics; I'm the poet and you're my muse.
Lullaby
~~You are my lullaby~~ Watching you sleep is the most peaceful feeling. Hearing you breathe, watching your chest move with every breath reminds me of how important life really is. Each breath you take is like a lullaby that flows throughout my ears alerting my brain to release melatonin to drift me off to sleep. Feeling your soft, warm skin against mine warms my heart more so when you pull me closer and hold me tighter. Melatonin flows throughout my body as I feel weightless. My eyelids begin to drop and my breathing gets shallower. I drift off to sleep as you hold me close through the night. Your warm body wraps around me as if it was a blanket. Comfort takes over and my muscles relax. Your snores echo throughout the room reminding me that everyone has flaws and that we are beautiful just the way we are. Your soft whispers tickle my ears as the vibrations are converted into words in my brain. Hearing you whisper "I love you" rings throughout my body. I smile and reply "I love you, too." I turn over facing the opposite direction as our butts are touching. This position shows that we have just the right amount of space between us in our relationship. I wrap up in my blanket and drift off to sleep.

Home Is Where The Heart Is
They say home is where the heart is and I’m about to be a thousand miles away from mine. With the summer sun high in the sky I am forced to leave the only person who has ever made me feel safe. He is my heart, my soul, my light. I cling tightly to the warmth and security that he has given me. I let the pain that I am feeling flow from my eyes as you wrap me in your solid arms and I breathe you in for what feels like the last time. And it will be the last at least for a while and as we stand there in the airport I try to remember why it is that I am choosing to leave you.
