Who am I today? | A Re-Collection
This collection of bite-size wordscapes is an experimental framework for archiving the personal. It was born out of a stressful quest to define my identity publicly, to a quickly changing, ever-evolving, moody and 'hungry-for-certainty' kind of world. Having to introduce myself to various online communities - and sick of the typical, cookie-cutter artist bios that are never quirky enough or grandiose enough - I decided to start simply by asking myself the question "Who am I today?" as a daily practice. What emerged is still a churning mixture of daily highlights, to-do lists, poetry, who knows?... All I know is that it's definitely seasonal, still growing, and that I plan on continuing with this experiment until next January - back to the month when it all began.

Emma's Word of the Day
This is my fourth "Emma's Word of the Day" on Vocal. Though for many years I have done a "Word of the Day" on my Facebook account, as I am a word geek. When I was 7 years old, I had the longest spelling list of any Year 2 student in my school. Still to this day, if I come across a word I don't know, I will stop reading to look up the new word to see what it means. To see if there is a way I could be using that word. Even with my very large vocabulary I still find words that are new and they make me excited. Words have power, magic and they help us understand the world we live in, thus why they hold so much sway for me.
