Emma's Word of the Day

Number 4, September 2021

By Emma DatsonPublished 4 years ago 2 min read

This is my fourth "Emma's Word of the Day" on Vocal. Though for many years I have done a "Word of the Day" on my Facebook account, as I am a word geek. When I was 7 years old, I had the longest spelling list of any Year 2 student in my school. Still to this day, if I come across a word I don't know, I will stop reading to look up the new word to see what it means. To see if there is a way I could be using that word. Even with my very large vocabulary I still find words that are new and they make me excited. Words have power, magic and they help us understand the world we live in, thus why they hold so much sway for me.

From Verdure to Umbrage with Ignition and Emulate in the middle, you are sure to find a word you love.

I am presenting this here in poets in the hope that one of my words may provide you the inspiration you need. Words, after all, are what poets use to create their art, so the more words you know the better. Well, that's what I think anyway. I hope some of you agree.

I try to do my word of the day daily, but sometimes life happens, so these posts will present what I managed to do in the previous month. I didn't do as many words for September, only 14, so not as many words for you to select from but I hope October will allow me the space for more inspiration and time to do more words for you all.

I present to you my September 2021 words of the day.

(Please note I use Australian spelling as I am Australian.)
