Swamp Thing

Limerick for a muse in the lonely swamp world, transported in a famous painting

By Melissa IngoldsbyPublished 3 years ago 1 min read
The Birth of Venus Painting by Sandro Botticelli

Shimmering as stardust, painted eggshell white

I stand before your re-birth, mortal, contrite

Clamshell pearl, I yank and heave as you can subtly through the stubbornly shut shell see

I Cannot get this darn thing open, please, Swamp Thing, Forgive me!

Jaws of life, please help me find my true love, to help us reunite!
