Survival Dressed In Delusion

Notes Of A Survivor

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 8 months ago Updated 8 months ago 1 min read
Noir Art

I fell completely for his love of illusions

Wore a costume made of shame and confusion

I finally came to the only conclusion

I ran, a Survivor dressed in delusion

I faced the fire and was branded a hero

The lessons learned I carry etched in my skin, so

I am the messenger of faith holding out hope

The knot to cling to at the end of the rope

Remember that the truest love gained, is yours

You were meant for far more than surviving

Forgive yourself and shed all your failures

They remind you that you’re living

****

Author’s Note:

Experience doesn’t care how much it hurts, only that you learned the lesson

Wake-up, welcome to your life

I couldn’t pick a favorite. I’ll leave that to you ❤️

A lot of great lines here, Kelli, but I like where you end with the last two.
